Joshua obtained both MPhil. Crop Protection (Plant pathology) and BSc. Agriculture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). During his MPhil research, he focused on identifying an Aspergillus species with antagonistic effect on Phytophthora palmivora using morphological and molecular means.
He joined the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research - Oil Palm Research Institute of Ghana (CSIR-OPRI) as a Principal Technologist in March, 2019 and has since been involved in conducting solution-oriented research at the Plant Pathology Section of Crop Protection Division, CSIR-OPRI.
His current researches include screening of a foliar fertilizer with potential fungistatic effect against oil palm disease pathogens and isolation, identification and management of pathogens from coconut nursery field at CSIR – OPRI.
He has research interests in fungal identification using morphological and molecular tools and managing plant diseases biologically and holistically.
Joshua has written some important scientific refereed journal papers which have been submitted and some published in reputable journals.
He desires to become a renowned Plant Pathologist to help manage plant diseases and also protect the environment as well by contributing notably to reducing crop losses resulting from diseases and fungicides application, respectively. He seeks to mentor other young and upcoming students in the field of plant pathology.
He is a member of CSIR- Research Staff Association (RSA), American Phytopathological Society (APS), Ghana Science Association and Plant Protection Society of Ghana.
